A busy week of workshops – performances – fairs – talks – live music – films – dancing – collaborative events and more || The week is a showcase for our artists’ creative incubator project plus a fundraiser to develop the space. A springboard reaction.

 Film Premiere – ‘Liverpool: Beyond The Beatles’ a documentary that has taken 2 years to make @ The camp and Furnace, 7.30pm. Surely it will be out of date? Includes interviews with industry people and one band, Stealing Sheep.

 Tuesday 2nd

Francesco Mellina book launch @ Waterstones 6.30pm

Liverpool “revealed” 1977-1982. In conversation with Jamie Bowman (echo). Photgraphs from places like Probe, eric’s, Mr Pickwick’s, Cagneys r Planet X

Neil Campbell Launch of Tabula Rasa Suite @ Picton Reading Room and Hornby Library. (Central Library) 2pm

The Tabula Rasa Suite is a freely improvised piece for guitar and environmental sounds, and he will also be performing arrangements of Satie, Glass, Terrega, Albeniz and others.

Staff Benda Bilili @ Liverpool Philharmonic 7.30pm (DaDa fest) Congolese Super Band. Remember the film about them at the Bluecoat? The name literally translates as ‘put forward what is hidden’ which triggers meaning related to their physical disabilities and of the true Kinshasa that they sing about.

Michael Chapman and James Blackshaw. @ Leaf 8pm Both prolific and revered acoustic guitar composers. Chapman being involved with Thurston moore’s label and blackshaw releasing his Yan Tierson commission on Thomkins Square
